I’m proud to say that I’ve been part of the Bradford Group since we started 13 years ago. And we have just had one of our best years ever.
It’s been exciting to see our company grow, adapt and progress, and while we’ve had a lot of changes over the years, there are three primary developments that make 2013 really stand out in my mind.
When we first started, there were two of us: Jeff and me. Over the last few years especially, we’ve been fortunate to add new people to our Group and continue adding. In 2013 alone, we had 43% employee growth. The best part is that we have also gotten good at hiring, if I say so myself, and we have a smart, hard-working crew that produces excellent, creative and thoughtful work.

The hiring has been to support our continued business growth – increasing 62% in 2012 and on track for another 35% in 2013.
What has been the cause for the growth? I think it’s a combination of multiple factors. One reason is our quarterly planning sessions. We take the time as a group to decide what our priorities are, why they are are important now and for long-term success, and how we will achieve them. Each person here is involved with and integral to our company decisions and goals. That transparency and alignment has helped us achieve great things together.
Companies want to experience our blend of enthusiasm and expertise, and we are excited when new clients come on board.
Another reason is the way we work. One of our core values is that we are active marketing partners. We become an extension of our clients’ teams and constantly evaluate what works, adapting our methods and presenting new ideas and tactics to generate measureable results. We add to that our ability to create strategic, persuasive and well-written content that creates conversations and build brands. Companies want to experience that blend of enthusiasm and expertise, and we are excited when new clients come on board. We love to help our partners grow their businesses and it shows.
In 2013, we became a certified Hubspot agency partner – the first one in the Nashville area – assisting us with our inbound marketing capabilities. We believe that the future of marketing belongs to hybrid agencies that can provide traditional PR and advertising services – press releases, editorials, events, ad campaigns, logos, brochures, etc. – as well as inbound marketing, social media, online content, SEO, email marketing and analytics. We have become a hybrid agency and will continue to strengthen our team with hybrid professionals.
The Bradford Group is constantly pushing the envelope to try new things, adapt with the times and expand our offerings in ways that will benefit our clients and support our ongoing efforts.
We are able to offer integrated and innovative packages to our clients – using all the tools and media at our disposal to get the message out. Being a hybrid agency is also indicative of a larger pattern for the Bradford Group: this company is constantly pushing the envelope to try new things, adapt with the times and expand our offerings in ways that will benefit our clients and support our ongoing efforts.
We are in the middle of construction for our new hip space in East Nashville and we couldn’t be more excited. We will be the first major PR firm in the historic, colorful and vibrant neighborhood. With more room, plenty of parking, exterior signage and a great view of downtown, our new offices are a tangible representation of the energy, growth and general awesomeness of our company.
It’s been a great year in this 13th year of our company’s history. While the number “13” may be unlucky for some, for us, it’s been a blessing. And I can’t wait to see what happens in 2014.
